• Account Information: When you create an account or purchase a license, we collect your email address and payment information (processed securely by our payment provider, LemonSqueezy).
• Contact Information: When you contact us through our website, we collect your name, email address, and message content.
• License Information: We store license keys and activation data to manage your software license.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: When you activate Talktopus, we collect a device fingerprint (a hash of hardware identifiers) to manage license activations. We do not collect personally identifiable hardware information.
• Usage Data: We may collect basic usage statistics to improve our software (e.g., app version, operating system version).

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Voice Recordings: Your voice is processed locally on your device or sent directly to your chosen AI provider (e.g., OpenAI Whisper). We never store, access, or transmit your voice recordings.
• Dictated Text: The text generated from your dictation is processed locally and sent to your AI provider. We do not have access to your dictated content.
• Clipboard Data: We do not access or store your clipboard contents.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Process transactions and manage your license
• Send you important updates about your license or our services
• Respond to your inquiries and support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

We use the following third-party services:

When you use Talktopus with an AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), your voice data is sent directly to that provider according to their privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure password hashing
• Row-level security on database tables
• Regular security audits
